Corona protest: Truckers call for the resignation of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Truck drivers protesting against all corona rules have been blocking the roads in the Canadian capital Ottawa for days. The self-proclaimed ‘Freedom Convoy’ targets Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for calling the ‘Freedom Convoy’ demands ‘unacceptable’.

The head of government is held personally responsible by demonstrators.

Canada’s Prime Minister has defended his cabinet’s decisions and is refusing to give in to growing pressure from the protest movement to reverse restrictions he believes are necessary.

The trucker protests are eyed critically by many residents of Ottawa. They fear that commercial products will soon be missing and the shelves in the supermarkets will be empty because the trade will not be supplied or there will be panic buying.

The truck drivers organized blockades not only in the capital. Some border crossings to the USA have also been blocked. These protests are causing bottlenecks in industry supply chains. A car factory has already had to stop production.
