The US Aerospace Agency (NASA) has reportedly launched the world’s largest and most advanced space telescope, James Webb, into space.

James Webb, whose launch has been delayed multiple times for various reasons, was broadcast live today from the platform in French Guiana on the northeastern coast of South America.

It is stated that James Webb will start collecting the first data and images in 2022, and it is expected to settle in an orbit of approximately 1.6 million kilometers from Earth in about 1 month.

NASA announced that thanks to the telescope’s mirror that can extend up to 6.5 meters, it can collect a lot of light and more details will be observed.

The product of NASA’s collaboration with the European and Canadian space agencies, Webb is seen as the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope, the largest and most powerful science observatory ever built.
