BlackBerry, which has been one of the brands that dominated the smartphone world in the past, announced that it will end its support for old smartphone models that use its own operating system. According to the information announced by BlackBerry, this support will end on January 4th.
Let’s add that the software support provided by BlackBerry will be stopped for smartphone models using BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 operating system. Software support will continue to be provided for BlackBerry models using the Android operating system.
According to the statements made by BlackBerry, no software updates will be shared anymore to keep the carrier or Wi-Fi connection working for phones using BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 operating system.
With the loss of software support, problems with basic functions such as calls, cellular data, SMS, Wi-Fi and emergency calls may occur. If you are still using one of these models, we recommend backing up your data.
The classic BlackBerry models, which left their mark on a period, came to the end of the road with BlackBerry’s discontinuation of software support. Sharing a similar fate with Nokia, BlackBerry has soon gone from being the most popular brand in the smartphone world to a brand that has sunk into oblivion.
