China aims to reach the peak in carbon emissions by 2030 and to reach the “neutral” level of carbon emissions by 2060.
In a statement, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also repeated its target of reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 18 percent by 2025.
The green development plan includes tight control of capacities in steel, cement, aluminum and other sectors, increasing consumption of clean energy, encouraging the use of hydrogen and biofuels in steel, cement, chemical production.
